Mail-In Device Repair, Shipped to ubrokeit in West LA

Not everyone who needs an expert can get to a bench in West Los Angeles during shop hours. Mail-in repair fixes that. You ship the device here, it gets the same diagnosis-first treatment as anything handed across the counter, and it comes back to you repaired and backed for life.

Every repair happens in-house, on Gregory's bench. Nothing gets handed off to another shop or another city. Whatever you send lands on the same bench every walk-in repair does.

When mailing it in makes sense

Some repairs are worth a box and a label

Board-level work is the obvious one. If your console powers on with no picture, or a charge port has stopped taking a cable, that's a fix many shops won't take on and some quietly send elsewhere. ubrokeit does it on-site. It's the kind of repair worth shipping for, because the skill is the thing you're paying for and skill travels fine.

The other reason is simpler: you can't get here. Maybe you're not in Los Angeles, or the shop's hours don't fit around your job. Mailing it in puts your device on the same bench it would have reached in person.

Step by step

How a repair by mail works with us

  1. Tell ubrokeit it's coming. Book a repair or call first, so there's a real read on the likely fix and what to expect before you spend a cent on shipping.
  2. Pack it and send it. Ship to the address below, with a note inside: your name, your phone number, the device, and exactly what it's doing.
  3. Diagnosis, then an honest quote. Nothing gets worked on past diagnosis until you've heard what the repair actually is and what it costs. You approve the number before any repair begins.
  4. The repair, on the bench. Done in-house, including the board-level soldering a lot of shops won't take on themselves.
  5. Tested, then shipped back. The repair runs long enough to be sure it holds, then it heads back to you.
  6. The warranty travels with it. The lifetime warranty on the work applies to a mailed-in repair exactly as it does to a walk-in.

A device in a box gets the same bench as one in your hand

Same diagnosis, whether you walk in or ship in

Something that shows up in a box gets treated exactly like a device handed to me at the counter. I find out what's actually wrong before I quote you, and I get in touch with the real repair and the real number before I do anything past diagnosis. Plenty of what gets mailed to me is the work other shops won't touch, the soldering-level stuff, because that's what people will actually box up and ship for. I'd rather you send me the hard one than hand it to whoever's nearest and cross your fingers.

Honest timing

What a mailed-in repair really takes

A board-level fix is a few days of actual bench time, usually somewhere between three and ten days depending on the fault and whether a part has to come in. Add shipping each way on top of that. The window comes once it's on the bench and diagnosed; a photo isn't enough to promise a date.

If timing is tight, say so when you book. Some repairs move faster than others, and it's better to know up front than to wonder where your device is.

Before you ship

Packing it so it arrives safe

  • Back up your data if the device still powers on. A repair shouldn't touch your files, but a backup is always the right move before anything ships.
  • Pull the SIM and any memory card. Keep them. They don't need to make the trip.
  • Write down the symptom. A short note with your name, phone number, the model, and what it's doing saves a round of phone tag.
  • Pad it well. Snug packaging in a sturdy box. The screen survived the original break; don't let the mail finish the job.
  • Use a trackable service, ideally insured for what the device is worth, so both ends know where it is.

The lifetime warranty

Covered for as long as you own it

Every repair ubrokeit does is backed for as long as you own the device — the workmanship and the part installed. If it doesn't hold, send it back and it gets made right. New damage, like a fresh drop or water, is a new repair rather than a warranty claim. The same terms apply whether you walked in or shipped it.
